    # BKM436 PLEASE TAKE NOTE: This is our last piece. The box is sealed, but dented on one corner. See attached photographs of the actual set. As automobiles replaced the horse and carriage as the main form of transportation, military commanders took to using staff cars for travel. Commanders often used customized, high-end vehicles for staff cars. The 1916 Mercedes 16/40 or “Knight Tourer” was the choice of vehicle for Kaiser Wilhelm II and other German commanders. This vehicle was state-of-the-art for the time. The “Knight” designation was in reference to the vehicle’s four-stroke Knight sleeve-valve engine. 5. GMC CCKW - 2 1/2 Ton Cargo Truck

GMC CCKW - 2 1/2 Ton Cargo Truck

    SGD 142.50
The GMC CCKW 2 1/2 Ton 6x6 Truck was the crucial piece of logistics hardware in the Allied arsenal during World War II. Examples include a long (164-inch) and short (145-inch) wheelbase. The short version was designed to tow 75mm and 105mm field artillery and the long version was typically used for personnel and cargo. The famous "deuce and a half" saw service worldwide. The CCKW was the main transport vehicle for the famous Red Ball Express. Operated from August through November 1944, the Express was developed to deliver the required supplies to rapidly advancing Allied divisions. The route was essentially a one-way loop using existing roads in France. Because of unit segregation, over 75% of the soldiers operating the convoys were African-American. Many had never driven a truck before. Despite receiving only a few hours of training, these men ensured the success of the logistics miracle. Operating 24 hours a day, they drove day and night on narrow roads through bad weather to deliver badly-needed supplies to the men at the front. It is estimated that over 900 trucks were moving on the Express at any given time. Around 5,400 trucks were involved in the operation, delivering over 400,000 tons. By the end of production in 1945, 562,750 units in all variants had been built. 9. S160 Locomotive - US Army Transportation Corps

S160 Locomotive - US Army Transportation Corps

    SGD 1,297.50
It is often claimed by military commanders that “logistics win wars”. When moving troops, an enormous amount of material and supplies are required, ranging from bullets to clean water. During World War II, this task was the job of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps (USATC). Responsible for operations such as the Red Ball Express, the Corps also designed wartime train locomotives. The most prolific of these was the S160 Class locomotive. This inexpensive design was to fulfill the urgent need by Allied nations to move tanks, men, and supplies. Deployed primarily to England under Lend-Lease, 800 of these locomotives were shipped to England. After the Allied invasion at Normandy, hundreds of locomotives were shipped to France to support the drive towards Germany. Over 2,000 S160s were produced during the war. After the war, hundreds of these locomotives were transferred to nations throughout Europe to help the struggling countries rebuild destroyed rail systems. Surviving models can still be seen today, including a fully restored S160 owned and operated by Churnet Valley Railway in England. 14. Type J Lorry with QF 13-Pounder AA Cannon

Type J Lorry with QF 13-Pounder AA Cannon

    SGD 187.50
Much like other new weapons seen during the Great War, the first anti-aircraft guns were crude in nature. Some of the first British AA weapons would be 13-pound guns mounted in the bed of a Thornycraft J-type lorry. This equipment would also be accompanied by two other lorries carrying range-finding equipment and ammunition. Early AA weapons faced new problems never seen before in combat. Unlike ground targets, aircraft can effectively move in three dimensions. The weapon would not only have to accurately target the aircraft, but also fire rounds with enough velocity to reach great altitudes. These techniques would be refined as the war continued, but little data exists as to how effective these weapons were in downing enemy aircraft. Specifications: Maximum elevation of fire: 80+ degrees Vertical range: 13,000 feet (about 4000m) Velocity: 520m/sec (1,700ft/sec) The Type J Lorry - With QF 13-Pounder AA Cannon kit comes with the following features Two printed figures Fully articulating gun with functional breach Two Brickarms HEDP shells with stowage locations Premium Vinyl Brickmania Stickers Functional vehicle stabilizers Fold down sides on the truck bed Designed by Cody Osell Includes 237 genuine new-condition LEGO® & BrickArms elements 1/35 scale to match other Brickmania models Intermediate Skill Level (4-6 years of experience with LEGO is recommended) All Brickmania model kits are made of new-condition LEGO bricks. 15. D-Type WWI British Staff Car

    D-Type WWI British Staff Car

    SGD 150.00
At about the same time Henry Ford began producing Model T’s in the United States, Vauxhall set out to design a car for the war effort. The onset of the Great War saw an expansion of automobile design and production. The “D-Type” model was reserved for military commanders and their staff, who often preferred it to horses. In the age of the machine gun and barbed wire, motor vehicles in all forms began to replace horses as the main mode of transportation both in and out of battle. Along with planes and tanks, the automobile would prove to be another major field of advancement during the Great War. Specifications: Year: 1915 Engine: 4-cylinder 25hp engine Number produced: 1,500 Passengers: 5 The D-Type - WWI British Staff Car kit comes with the following features Two printed figures Printed spoked wheels Spare tire Designed by Cody Osell Includes 160 genuine new-condition LEGO® elements 1/35 scale to match other Brickmania models Intermediate Skill Level (4-6 years of experience with LEGO is recommended) All Brickmania model kits are made of new-condition LEGO bricks.
