Their objective was to reclaim territory lost during the 1967 Six Day War and eventually move on to eliminate the Jewish State. The bulk of the Syrian armored forces was made up of stockpiled Soviet tanks, including a plethora of T-55s. The T-55 was initially developed by the Soviets as a counter to the new American M60 MBT. Also new was the incorporation of NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) defenses for the tank’s four-person crew. 6. Easy Eight - M4A3E8 Sherman Tank

Easy Eight - M4A3E8 Sherman Tank

    SGD 420.00
    # BKM2220 The name “Easy Eight” was the nickname for the final World War II production model of the famous Sherman tank. While never designed to battle heavy German armor, this model was more capable than the original Sherman tanks rolled out three years earlier. The Easy Eight contained key critical upgrades including a longer, high velocity 76mm gun and better armor. The nickname “Easy Eight” comes from the final two letters in its military designation, M4A3E8, which indicated an improved and heavier suspension system designed to deal with the extra weight of the new gun. This was effective at navigating the uneven terrain of the Ardennes Forest when in combat with intimidating German heavy tanks during the Battle of the Bulge. The Easy Eight was the only Sherman to remain in American service following World War II, deployed in Korea until the development of the M46 Patton. The Easy Eight was also the basis of the famous Israeli “Super Shermans” which saw action well into the 1970s. Specifications: Crew: 5 Engine: Ford GAA 8-cylinder gasoline Speed: 23 mph (37 km/h) Range: 109 mi (175 km) Armament: 76mm high-velocity gun, .50 caliber Browning M2, 2x .30-06 caliber machine guns Features of the Easy Eight - M4A3E8 Sherman kit include: The Brickmania team has updated our ever-popular Easy Eight kit with several new features. Significant upgrades include the addition of new custom weapons from BrickArms: new extra-long Easy Eight Gun Barrel, Easy Eight Muzzle Brake, and a Short .30 Caliber Machine Gun Barrel with Ball Joint. This model retains its smooth-running tracks, functional suspension, rotating turret, and four opening crew hatches. It also comes with the iconic BrickArms M2HB machine gun as standard equipment. A perfect addition to this kit would be one or more WW2 US Tanker minifigures (sold separately). For those looking to add an extreme flair to your Easy Eight model, we have also created the M4A3E8 Hollywood Add-On Pack. 7. S160 Locomotive - US Army Transportation Corps

S160 Locomotive - US Army Transportation Corps

    SGD 1,946.25
    # BKM6002 It is often claimed by military commanders that “logistics win wars”. When moving troops, an enormous amount of material and supplies are required, ranging from bullets to clean water. During World War II, this task was the job of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps (USATC). Responsible for operations such as the Red Ball Express, the Corps also designed wartime train locomotives. The most prolific of these was the S160 Class locomotive. This inexpensive design was to fulfill the urgent need by Allied nations to move tanks, men, and supplies. Deployed primarily to England under Lend-Lease, 800 of these locomotives were shipped to England. After the Allied invasion at Normandy, hundreds of locomotives were shipped to France to support the drive towards Germany. Over 2,000 S160s were produced during the war. After the war, hundreds of these locomotives were transferred to nations throughout Europe to help the struggling countries rebuild destroyed rail systems. Surviving models can still be seen today, including a fully restored S160 owned and operated by Churnet Valley Railway in England. Bruno - 28 cm SK L/40 Railway Gun

    SGD 937.50
    # BKM441 Remark: due to the extra discounted price this set will only ship by Economy Post and will take some time to arrive. Sometimes known as the Amiens Gun, the 28cm SK L/40 Railway Gun “Bruno” was produced by Germany within a series of monstrous artillery weapons. The advent of the railway gun was first seen during the American Civil War with the Confederacy deploying a 32-pound gun at Savage Station in June 1862. As the First World War continued, each army continued to develop larger artillery pieces, eventually mounting naval guns on railway cars. These huge weapons often had a range of twenty miles or more, making them both formidable weapons and top priority targets for opposing armies. This tradition continued into the Second World War. There were six 28cm railway guns produced for the German Army. One of the guns was involved in the Battle of Amiens, used to shell the city of Amiens during the summer of 1918. The gun was captured by the Australians during the Battle of Harbonnieres, a massive offensive by the Allies on August 8, 1918. The gun was brought back to Australia as a war trophy and is on display at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. SGD 382.50
    # BKM2172 Remark: Number on box is misprinted as 2113. Contains the 2017 version of minifigures with torso stickers. Considered by historians as key to Allied victory, the LCVP “Higgins” Boat was a simple design capable of placing men and material where they were needed. Prior to the Higgins, landing troops via amphibious assault was dangerous, slow, and ineffective. Previous designs fared poorly in shallow water and required soldiers to jump over the side of their craft. Although it was poorly received by the Navy, Louisiana businessman and boat-builder Andrew Higgins designed a boat that could operate in just three feet of water while carrying 8,000 pounds of cargo, thirty-six men, or twelve men and a Jeep. The design was simple – a boxy shape with an open top and a large, wide ramp that allowing soldiers or Jeeps to deploy quickly. Much of the boat was mahogany, a light and durable sub-tropical wood that allowed the boat to return to the sea after deploying its cargo. The Higgins arrived at precisely the right time. In the Pacific theater, amphibious assaults would be key to capturing islands from Japanese forces. In Europe, these assaults would be required to liberate both Italy and France. When Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, they deployed from over 800 of these landing craft. There are several famous images with Army Rangers deploying on Omaha Beach from the Higgins boat. This scene was also depicted in the award-winning film Saving Private Ryan, granting modern audiences a realistic look at the struggle by Allied forces. Many of the Allied commanders used the Higgins extensively, resulting in over 20,000 to be produced during the war period 1941-1945. The US military continued to use the basic Higgins design in future generations of amphibious landing craft. Specifications: Length: 36 feet (11 m) Engine: Gray Marine diesel (255 hp) Speed: 12 knots Armament: 2x Browning machine guns Crew: 4 Features of the LCVP kit include: Three custom WWII US Navy minifigs with torso stickers Two BrickArms M1919 Machine Guns Opening bow ramp with cable spool Includes 411 LEGO®, Brickmania™ and BrickArms® elements 1/35 scale matches other Brickmania models The over-all color scheme of this model is light gray Intermediate Skill Level (4-6 years experience with LEGO is recommended) This is a sturdy model that has been play tested by kids during World War Brick activities!
